The Highlander fly was first quoted in the 1885 book by Francis Francis's "A Book on Angling' and in 1895, it was quoted that the Green Highlander variation was created by a Mr Grant in the book 'A Salmon Fly' by George Kelson. It is classed as being one of the staple flies in salmon fishing. This is a variation on the traditional Green Highlander fly. We also have the more traditional Green Highlander for sale too.
